Types of Disney Cruise Staterooms

Inside Staterooms

Inside staterooms are usually the least expensive of all the stateroom options on board. There are two different kinds of inside staterooms: standard and deluxe. The standard inside staterooms are also the smallest staterooms on board, but still very spacious compared to other cruise lines. The standard inside is usually 169 sq. ft, while the deluxe is 204 sq. ft. Amenities include individual climate control, mini refrigerator, a sitting area with a couch, privacy curtain to separate the sitting and sleeping areas, a full bathroom with a vanity, sink, shower, and tub, hair dryer, and elevated wooden bed frames for under-bed storage of suitcases and other large items. Most standard and deluxe rooms have a queen bed, single sleeper sofa, and upper-berth pull-down bed. They also have something very cool: a “magical” porthole with video real time views of the ocean! You can also see some of your favorite animated Disney characters splashing around in the water! This is Disney’s way of adding that little extra magic to something that other cruise lines would have overlooked. And I LOVE it!

Oceanview Staterooms

Oceanview staterooms are the second least expensive stateroom option. In these rooms, you’ll have a real porthole as your view. There are also two different kinds of oceanview staterooms: deluxe oceanview and deluxe family oceanview. The deluxe oceanview is usually 204 sq. ft, while the deluxe family oceanview is 241 sq. ft. Amenities include individual climate control, mini refrigerator, a sitting area with a couch, privacy curtain to separate the sitting and sleeping areas, a “split bath”: a bathroom with a vanity, sink, shower and tub and a half bathroom with a vanity, sink and toilet, hair dryer, and elevated wooden bed frames for under-bed storage of suitcases and other large items. Most deluxe oceanview rooms have a queen bed, single sleeper sofa, and upper-berth pull-down bed. The deluxe family oceanview rooms have queen bed, single sleeper sofa, wall pull-down bed (in most), and upper-berth pull-down bed. These rooms have either 1 or 2 porthole windows, depending on your room’s location.

Verandah Staterooms

The verandah staterooms are my absolute favorite! I always recommend these to clients because they are definitely worth the extra little bit of money. They provide a breathtaking view you just can’t pass up!

Tip: If you have small children who still take naps during the day, I highly recommend getting a stateroom with a verandah. While they nap, you’ll be able to sit out on the verandah, sip your favorite drink, and enjoy the ocean views. Whereas if you have no verandah, you basically have to sit in a dark room the whole time they nap. Trust me on this, it is absolutely worth the money to get a verandah!

In these rooms, you’ll have your own private verandah where you will be able to sit, relax, enjoy a cup of coffee or eat breakfast with a view. There are also two kinds of verandah staterooms: deluxe and deluxe family. The deluxe oceanview with verandah is usually 246 sq. ft, while the deluxe family oceanview with verandah is 299 sq. ft (both including the verandah). Amenities include individual climate control, mini refrigerator, a sitting area with a couch, privacy curtain to separate the sitting and sleeping areas, a “split bath”: a bathroom with a vanity, sink, shower and tub and a half bathroom with a vanity, sink and toilet (in most), hair dryer, elevated wooden bed frames for under-bed storage of suitcases and other large items, and a private verandah complete with patio furniture, deck lighting, and childproof locks. Most deluxe oceanview with verandah rooms have a queen bed, single sleeper sofa, and upper-berth pull-down bed. The deluxe family oceanview with verandah rooms have a queen bed, single sleeper sofa, wall pull-down bed (in most), and upper-berth pull-down bed (in some).

Concierge Staterooms

The concierge staterooms have to be the most beautiful and luxurious staterooms aboard the entire ship. You can relax in the lap of luxury in these accommodations! There are three types of concierge suites: concierge verandah, concierge one bedroom with verandah, and concierge royal with verandah. The concierge verandah is 306 sq. ft, the one bedroom suite is 622 sq. ft, and the royal suite is 1781 sq. ft. Amenities include individual climate control, mini refrigerator, a sitting area with a couch, privacy curtain to separate the sitting and sleeping areas, a “split bath”: a bathroom with a vanity, sink, shower and tub and a half bathroom with a vanity, sink and toilet, hair dryer, elevated wooden bed frames for under-bed storage of suitcases and other large items, and a private verandah complete with patio furniture, deck lighting, and childproof locks. Concierge one bedroom and royal suites also have a separate bedroom, a living room, a wet bar stocked with water and sodas, walk-in closet, 2 bathrooms, including double sinks, a rain-style shower, and a whirlpool tub in the master. The concierge royal also has an open dining salon.

These rooms are perfect for big families who need a little extra space. Concierge rooms also come with lots of special perks!
