Is the breakfast buffet at The Crystal Palace in Disney World worth it? Read our full review here!

Breakfast is one of our favorite meals while on vacation. Especially to me as a mom, because I know I don’t have to cook it! Ha! And when we’re at Disney World, we have several amazing breakfast spots we like to take advantage of. Today, I’m sharing my full review on one of the breakfast venues we went to on our last trip in September – The Crystal Palace!

If you’re on the dining plan (particularly the plus dining), I’m sure you can tell that reservations are a big deal. You only have so many credits to use and you want to make sure you use those credits wisely, right? Because it would really stink to use a credit on a dining reservation and absolutely hate it. I don’t want that for you either! It’s a lot easier to make a decision on where to eat when you get a review from someone who’s been there, so hopefully I can help you with that!

With that being said, this review is strictly based on my experience. Just because I had a certain experience here doesn’t mean that you will too. I’m just giving you my overall opinion of the experience, food, service, and character viewing experience.

Brief overview of The Crystal Palace restaurant

The Crystal Palace in Disney World is a beautiful, bright restaurant where you can meet your favorite Winnie the Pooh characters. It’s on Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom Park. It resembles a greenhouse – there are flowers and topiaries just about everywhere. It’s a breakfast and dinner buffet filled with tons of food and something for everyone.

It was really a great way to start the day. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The only thing I didn’t like was that the tables were very close together, so you had to really watch where you were going or you might bump into someone or a character.

Food Variety and Quality

The food was absolutely amazing! There was so much variety and it all tasted wonderful. There were pancakes, mickey waffles, cinnamon sugar french toast, fruit, cheese, croissants, biscuits and gravy, grits, bacon, potatoes, sausage, and pretty much anything else you could think of. They also had a kids section with kid-sized plates which I thought was really cool.

They also did a great job of keeping the food stocked up and fresh. Everything was really clean!

Service

We had a big party (11 people), so I’m sure we were definitely not an easy bunch to serve. Ha! Our waiter was wonderful. He was very patient and always kept our drinks filled. Of course, it was a buffet, so he didn’t have to bring us any food or anything. But he was always around if we had any questions and he was very friendly and liked to talk.

The Character Viewing Experience

This character dining venue does a great job with giving every one enough time with the Winnie the Pooh characters. We didn’t feel rushed at all and they spent a good amount of time with my daughter (when she wasn’t scared of them!). I always allow at least 90 minutes for character dining because it does take a while for them to come around, but once they do you can be free to take as many pictures as you want with them (within reason of course).

They’ll play peek-a-boo with the babies, reach for their hand, blow them kisses, etc. It’s all so sweet to watch, and most of the time the babies love it. They also take a break every 30 minutes or so and dance around the room with the kids and sing Winnie the Pooh songs.

Overall Verdict

We absolutely loved the character breakfast at The Crystal Palace in Disney World and it will definitely be a must-do on our future trips! This was some of the best breakfast meals that we had during our trip and the whole family had a great time. The food, service, and character viewing experiences were all nicely done. We highly recommend going to The Crystal Palace on your next visit to Disney World!
